-comic strips or jokes of the day to explore word play with humor
-formulating questions of who, what, when, where and why, addresing formal way to seek answers
-notetaking and prewriting siklls help recording and organizing thoughts

Speaking
-practice fluency development with interactive games or study word origins (ex. Lingo Bingo)
-have students give oral presentations
-preview key terminology with content area instruction

-guide content reading

-provides instruction of grammar rules
